Artist's Description
Christmas Eve Detroit is an an abstract vision of Detroit's skyline looking toward the river. The first real snowfall of the year is underway as traffic slowly crawls up the streets. The Penobscot Building, Millender Center, and Buhl Building are featured in Detroit. Quilt designs inspired this geometric art. Cool blue tones mesh with orange and green in the shape of repeating Christmas trees.
About Garth Glazier
I am an illustrator, a storyteller, and a fine artist. I am happiest when I can be all three at once. I think illustration is a spectrum of storytelling genres and I like to think that each of works of art are little pieces of my own ongoing story. When I ask myself what is illustration today I feel like it is the big question that covers so many ways to create images. Illustration is and always will be about storytelling whether, it overlaps into what most would call fine art or fan art, or it takes the form of graphic novels or editorial work.
